Borg

According to the Borg Collective, they seek only to improve the quality of life in the universe and add to their own perfection.  To this end, the Borg travel the galaxy, improving their numbers and advancing by assimilating other species and technologies.  They harbour no ill-will to anyone; they merely fulfil their single-minded imperative to assimilate: as they say, “Resistance is futile.”  They easily make good on this threat with their ability to rapidly adapt to any attack and render it harmless.  Thus, any successful defence depends on the ingenuity of the opponent to find a method to stop them.
