Kzinti

The Kzinti Hegemony have fought wars with all of their neighbours, particularly their perennial nemeses, the Lyran Star Empire. The Kzinti eventually formed a tentative accord with the Federation, but they have been involved in major wars with the Klingons and Lyrans and a substantial region of their territory was occupied by their enemies and two full-scale assaults were made on the Kzinti homeworld of Kzintai. Eventually with Federation assistance they forced the occupiers from their territory. However, shortly after, the Kzinti were involved in a Civil War. This coup, led by the so-called Usurper, failed and he and his followers fled to the Wyn Star Cluster, where, believed dead, they were free to set up a new power base for themselves.
